Jumping Spiders see movement and will pounce, cat-like, on prey. They will defend themselves and bite, and while it can be painful, generally there is no venom toxicity. The Jumping Spider is found in various habitats, they live under boards, rocks, and on tree trunks. These spiders reach maturity in the spring and are active throughout the summer months.
